The Infiltrator
A downloadable game for Windows
“Hey kid. I’ve got a job for you. The reward is high... if you’re willing.”
Ever played one of those infiltration games? You know, the ones where you play as the spy and solve puzzles while listening to some epic music and your friendly camera operator? This time, you’re the operator!
You’re tired of working in this constant 9-5 job, exhausted of your coworkers and manager who clearly don’t care about you. Someone else seems to understand you though - on one random day, a person in a suit visits you. They explain their terms - they were hired to infiltrate the facility you work at. As it turns out, the facility is used by the mafia to launder money, along with a hiding place for... other types of deals. Not as if any of this was new to you - from the start, you were blackmailed into being an unwilling accomplice, leaving your dream job and abandoning your life because of unpaid debt. Consequently, the spy offers to pay you nicely if you decide to be the accomplice to their crime.
It could be enough to return to your old life, especially once the news of your good deed spread.
Anyways, the spy plans to infiltrate at night, but doesn’t want to bring any flashlights. It tends to attract too much attention. Naturally, you’ll have to act as their eyes. They aren’t alone in this facility though - as to be expected, there are other guards here. You’ll just have to be aware of them, making sure the spy doesn’t bump into any of them by accident. If one appears to be approaching the spy, you can create a ‘Report’, causing the nearest guard to approach a selected tile. Be careful, as the guard that reports the incident will become more paranoid and start moving faster once they’re done. It doesn’t help that you only have so many reports per room either before the guards get suspicious.
When infiltrating the facility, the spy has various activities they perform at marked spots before they feel ready to move to the next room. Lockpicking a safe, hacking into a computer, collecting evidence, the usual stuff. They need absolute focus when doing this, so they need to complete each task in one go. It’s not as if you want to get caught either - who knows how the mafia would punish you? And until you get results, the government won’t help either.
So what are you waiting for? Show them how the roles are reversed. Instead of being a helpless victim, you’ll be the reason behind their downfall. You aren’t even an accomplished spy - you’re just one lone camera operator, a normal civilian who will destroy the mafia.

Controls:
Click on a button to select a tile. From there, you can cause either the spy to move to that tile, or cause the nearest guard to report it. Be careful when you report though! Only use it for emergencies. Make sure the spy finishes all objectives in each room before they move on.
Due to the time constraints, there is one level with three rooms, and the difficulty select is just for show. It is a plan for a future implementation. In addition, selecting a tile can be difficult at times - try clicking on/near the corners. Objectives take 5 seconds for the spy to complete.
